Welcome to African Rights Action

African Rights Action aims to  promote social inclusion and integration of African refugees and asylum seekers and other African communities from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into the society of host countries, in particular by:

  • Providing a networking group that encourages and enables them to participate more effectively with the wider community of host countries.
  • Implementing community projects in relation to improving refugees’ education, economic self-reliance and human rights.
  • Promoting the development opportunities that contribute to advancing Rwandan Refugees’ human, cultural, social and economic development.

Our approaches

  • • We will ensure all our projects have well-defined, tangible and quantifiable targets and achievements
  • • Actively involve beneficiaries in all aspects of our work
  • • Undertake need assessment to inform and add value to our work
  • • Apply equal opportunities practices in governance and service delivery
  • • Reflect beneficiaries’ needs, aspirations, and knowledge in all programme activities
  • • Forge alliances with other organisations to share good practice and to develop joint initiatives.
  • • Use research findings from a range of actors to design and respond to the identified priorities.
  • • Serving as a connection between our beneficiaries and relevant agencies and services
  • • Acting as an access point that enables beneficiaries to find solutions to their problems and needs.
  • • We will initiate strategic alliances and work with different stakeholders together to increase success
  • • We will develop partnerships and programme models that are pro-poor, working with local communities,
Governments, International NGOs with complementary strengths, and selected research institutions.
